Thenhipalam Co-operative Rural Bank Ltd. (Reg. No. M.668) was founded on 16th August 2002 by visionary community leader J. Govindan Kutty Nair. Nestled at Kohinoor, Thenhipalam — just moments from Calicut University — the bank was born from a shared vision to provide accessible, trustworthy financial services to the people of Malappuram.
Over two decades, TCRB has grown into a cornerstone institution of the region, now serving over 15,000 members and 28,607 depositorsacross the panchayaths of Thenhipalam, Peruvallur, and AR Nagar. We combine the warmth and trust of community banking with modern technology like BeaconPro CBS and COOPaisa.
In November 2016, TCRB made national history by launching COOPaisa— India's first cooperative bank digital currency — demonstrating that small-town cooperative banks can lead the way in financial innovation.
